T&T HELD 1-1 IN FINAL GAME VS BERMUDA Print

 


Trinidad and Tobago's under 23 footballers ended their three-match tour of Bermuda unbeaten but had to settle for a 1-1 draw with Bermuda National's under 23 team at the National Sports Center in Devonshire on Friday.

Going into the game without the injured Akeem Adams and Sheldon Bateau, TT started brightly, taking the lead through Joe Public midfielder Jean Luc Rochford. His 30 yard shot flew into the net on 16 minutes to put TT ahead.

Trinidad and Tobago’s National Under 23 footballers braved the biting cold conditions and a stiffer challenge from Devonshire Cougar’s senior team to come away 3-2 winners in the second match of their Bermuda tour on Wednesday night.

Following Monday’s 5-2 win over Bermuda’s Olympic team, the Zoran Vranes-coached unit were a confident bunch at the National Sports Center in Devonshire and seized the early advantage to hold a 3-1 lead at half time but the eventual win didn’t come as easy this time and not without an  unfortunate occurrence.

Trinidad and Tobago’s National Under 23 footballers got their three-match series of to a flyer with a convincing 5-2 victory over Bermuda’s National Under 23 team at the National Stadium in Devonshire Monday evening.

From all accounts, the performance was just what head coach Zoran Vranes was hoping for under chilly conditions even as the Bermudans were the ones to take the lead after just three minutes forcing skipper Leston Paul and company to rally back.

VRANES HOPING FOR GOOD RESTART FROM JUNIOR WARRIORS IN BERMUDA Print


Head coach Zoran Vranes will have a chance to see how some his new selections fare on the international stage over the next week as he heads out with an 18-man Trinidad and Tobago Olympic Team to Bermuda on Saturday morning.

With the FIFA Under 20 World Cup out of the picture now, Vranes will focus on preparations for the Pan American Games in 2009 and the CAC Games which is expected to kick off around mid-2010. The 2012 Olympic Games in Manchester is also a top priority for the current bunch.

BAPTISTE TO GO ON TRIAL AT IPSWICH TOWN Print


Joe Public and National Team striker Kerry Baptiste will join countrymen Stern John and Carlos Edwards and English club Ipswich Town as he goes on a one-week trial at the club which has expressed interest in signing him on loan.

Baptiste, scorer of 40 plus goals in the domestic season and a double versus Mexico in October, is excited over the opportunity to impress before Ipswich head coach Roy Keane.
