Wigan Athletic have completed
the signing of Jason Scotland from Swansea City for two million
pounds ($3.26 million) after the Trinidad and Tobago striker
received international clearance, the club said on Saturday.
The 30-year-old signed a two-year deal and told Wigan’s web
site (www.wiganlatics.com): “It’s great to get to play in the
Premier League. It’s a big step up.
“Hopefully I can take it in my stride and do well. Just
thinking about lining up against some of the best players in the
world makes me smile.”

UPDATE: Trinidad and Tobago's National Under 20 footballers were edged 1-0 by Venezuela in their second match of the Puerto La Cruz International tournament on Monday night.
The hosts scored a penalty in the 42nd minute and two minutes later T&T were down to ten men. Coach Zoran Vranes' team reportedly gave a good account and missed a couple good chance to at least earn a draw. T&T will face Paraguay on Wednesday.

20 footballers will be aiming to bounce back from a opening match 4-1 defeat to
Costa Rica on Saturday when they face off with Venezuela’s National Under 20s
today (Monday) in the Puerto La Cruz International U-20 Hexagonal.
T&T playing against the Costa Rican team that has also
qualified for the FIFA Under 20 World Championship in Egypt in
September, fell behind in the third minute when Jose Mena put the Central
Americans ahead. But skipper Leston Paul leveled the scores for T&T with an
8th minute item.

The Ministry of Sport has handed over a cheque of TT$150,000 to the Trinidad and Tobago Football Federation to assist in the preparations of the National Senior Team for the 2010 World Cup qualifying campaign.
At a media briefing hosted by the Ministry on Friday, Minister of Sport Gary Hunt said he became aware that the TTFF was forced to put off a proposed training camp in Scotland because of a lack of funding and felt it was necessary for the Ministry to step in and assist.

Midfielder Atulla Guerra, coming off his first goal for Trinidad and Tobago at the Senior international level says he's looking forward to adding some more to his credit and feels he can score more spectacular goals.
"I'm happy yes but it was not one of my more spectacular goals. I was still thankful for it and I want to thank the coach for giving me the opportunity to play. I just have to make some changes now in my life to become a better player," Guerra said

Fresh from a new move to English Premiership club Hull City,
English-born striker Bobby Zamora has set his next ambition to that of playing
for Trinidad and Tobago.
This was confirmed by the player’s agent Eric Waters on
Wednesday as he relayed the message to National Team manager David Muhammad.
Following an enquiry from the Trinidad
and Tobago Football Federation into the player’s
availability after the new FIFA ruling a few weeks back, Zamora did indicate his interest and is now
hopeful of making his debut for T&T.
