|
|
Trent Noel on Friday night won a Diahatsu Sirion motor vehicle after being
confirmed as 2008 Player of the Year when the Digicel Pro League made
their presentation of awards at the Marvin Lee Stadium, where the new
season was launched with a double-header.
Thirty-two year-old Noel was outstanding for league champions San Juan Jabloteh, but has since moved on to United Petrotrin.
Predictably,
Jabloteh was announced as 2008 Team of the Year and their former
head-coach Terry Fenwick as Coach of the Year. North East Stars was the
Most Disciplined team; Defence Force striker Devon Jorsling won the
Golden Boot for the 21 goals he scored last season; and Raymond Mc
Clean (W Connection) was Administrator of the Year. The Match
Commissioner of the Year was Boris Punch; Referee of the Year was FIFA
ref Neil Brizan, while Joseph Taylor was Assistant-referee of the Year. (May 9.2009)
