National Team captain Dwight Yorke will be part of preparations with the Trinidad and Tobago National Senior Team from Friday (May 29) after being carded to join the live-in camp at the Le Grand Courlan  Hotel this evening.

Yorke arrived from London while Sunderland striker Kenwyne Jones will join the T&T camp on May 31.

Sunderland midfielder Carlos Edwards meantime was already involved, taking part in Thursday evening’s training session at the Dwight Yorke Stadium.

In some further news coming out of the Soca Warriors camp, striker Stern Iohn  left for  the United States on Thursday for treatment on a back injury and is unlikely to feature on June 6 against Costa Rica.  Team Doctor Terrence Babwah said that with conventional treatment, the T&T forward could be out for up to four weeks.

“Stern has a pinch nerve in the back and has left for the United States for treatment. It is unlikely that he can take part in any football for at least another four weeks. He will undergo special treatment there and with conventional treatment, it usually takes up to four weeks,” Babwah told TTFF Media.

The remaining players scheduled to join the T&T camp are DC United defender Avery John and San Jose striker Cornell Glen who comes in on May 31. Glen is the third striker in the team alongside Jones and Jason Scotland. The ex- Jabloteh forward was invited and included in the squad by Latapy since last week, prior to John’s injury.

Glen signed officially with San Jose Earthquakes this week.
