Trinidad and Tobago's National Under 17 footballers will depart for Rio de Janeiro on Monday for two-match tour of Brazil as they step up preparations for the upcoming FIFA Under 17 Women's World Cup in this country in September.

With two home and away friendlies carded against Jamaica in the coming weeks, Trinidad and Tobago’s Senior footballers will go into action before that when they face Antigua/Barbuda’s Senior National Team in a friendly international at the Marvin Lee Stadium from 6pm next Wednesday July 21.

The game will serve as a warm up for the Antiguans who are preparing for the upcoming Digicel Caribbean Championships (DCC) and will also serve similar purpose for the “Soca Warriors” who are carded to tackle the “Reggae Boyz” on August 11 in Port of Spain and in Kingston in October.

As the attention shifts to women’s football with the FIFA Under 20 Women’s World Cup currently taking place in Germany and Under 17 Championship set for Trinidad and Tobago in September, the European teams are already eying the top prize.

South Africa 2010 had Zakumi and now Trinidad and Tobago has “Trinity”.

That’s the mascot for the 2010 FIFA Under 17 Women’s World Cup which was launched on the Brian Lara Promenade, Port of Spain before scores of local fans and officials on Friday evening.

Nataki Kerr, Deputy CEO of the Local Organizing Committee,  described the mascot as "representative of all the culture of Trinidad and Tobago".
