JOE PUBLIC BACK ON TOP IN SUPER LEAGUE

Defending champions Joe Public regained the top spot in the Blink/Bmobile National Super League 2012 season after a 2-0 victory over Biche United at the Biche Recreation Ground on Sunday, in a Match Day Five contest.

Joe Public, the 2011 champs, began the day in second spot, but moved up a notch with strikes from Brent Sanchez (49th minute) and Keston Bibby-Cummings (69th). Biche were consigned to their fifth loss in as many games in their debut season.



WASA, who were the leaders entering the day, slid to fourth spot after a 2-1 loss to 1976 FC Phoenix at the WASA Ground, St Joseph.

Nigel Thomas (14th) and Darrin Mitchell (59th) found the back of the net for the visitors while Darin Lewis (27th) responded for WASA.

Westside Superstarzs FC progressed from third to second spot, despite battling to a 1-1 draw away to Eagles United at the Homeland Gardens Recreation Ground, Cunupia.

Akell Gilbert put Westside ahead in the 25th minute before Ian James responded for the hosts in the 66th.

Real Maracas advanced two places from fifth to third after a come-from-behind 3-1 triumph over Siparia Spurs.
