As part of the continuing efforts to assist Trinidad and Tobago football, FIFA will send one of its women football consultants and instructors to this country on Monday to hold meetings about the development of the local women’s game.

Andrea Rodebaugh will arrive in Port of Spain on Monday and will meet with TTFA President Raymond Tim Kee and General Secretary Sheldon Phillips. During her two-day visit, she will also hold meetings with the T&T Women’s Football League (WOLF) and President of the Women’s football Sharon O’Brien. Rodebaugh is also scheduled to hold discussions with the members of the TTFA Women’s football committee and local national women’s team coaches.

Trinidad and Tobago have remained the number one team in the Caribbean Football Union, in the latest rankings released yesterday.

The Soca Warriors have also maintained their FIFA World ranking of 76, and are still ahead of Haiti who are second in the CFU rankings and Jamaica, who lie third. 

While Haiti have also managed to remain 79th in the World rankings, Jamaica have fallen two spots to 82nd. 

Cuba have held onto fourth place in CFU but have jumped three places in the FIFA rankings to 90th.

FIFA Development Officer Howard McIntosh says that plans are afoot for the Trinidad and Tobago Football Association to benefit from some of FIFA’s assistance programs because of the progress made by the local FA in recent months.

McIntosh, who is one of the region’s development officers, was in Trinidad for two days this week as he partook in meetings with FIFA Vice President Jeffrey Webb and TTFA President Raymond Tim Kee and General Secretary Sheldon Phillips and other stakeholders including senior Government officials to discuss various initiatives and plans for local and regional football.

FIFA Vice President and CONCACAF President Jeffrey Webb is pleased with plans presented Tuesday by the Trinidad & Tobago Football Association (TTFA) that will ensure the sport’s continued development in the nation.

This is according to a release from CONCACAF issued following Webb’s five-hour visit to Trinidad and Tobago on Tuesday.

On his first official trip to the twin-island republic, Webb met with Trinidad & Tobago President Anthony Carmona, as well as several other senior government officials and TTFA President Raymond Tim Kee.

Also present was FIFA Development Officer Howard McIntosh, TTFA General Secretary Sheldon Phillips and Sebastien Paddington, chairman of the Sport Company of Trinidad and Tobago.
