"After seven years of legal wrangling with the Trinidad and Tobago Football Federation (TTFF), the 13 2006 “Soca Warriors” can breathe a sigh of relief that the “nightmare” is over."
That was the Trinidad Express statement as the TTFF hosted a press conference at the VIP Lounge, Hasely Crawford Stadium to commemorate the settlement of the case involving thirteen 2006 World Cup players.
The conference was aired live on CNC 3 television and was eagerly anticipated by all who had followed the events of the saga dating back to 2006. On Monday there were smiles on each of the players present and a sense of satisfaction and relief both by the 2006 "Soca Warriors" and TTFF officials including President Raymond Tim Kee and General Secretary Sheldon Phillips who were instrumental in the settlement reach which included discussions with CONCACAF President Jeff Webb.
